Actually this will only be a short tip, but quite a good one if you like to grow your own salad at home.
If you have been following this blog and looking within the website you would of know that I already own a worm farm.
(Watch The Video Above To What The Color Of Your Worm Wee Should Be!)
I have had this worm farm now for over a year and just love it!
I haven't collected any casting yet, yes they are there!
But I have been using the water that runs through the system as a liquid fertilizer.
I put it on just about everything and all my plants love it.
What I do is water it down to a weak tea color and liquid fertilize!
Everything is green and healthy and just loving that worm wee!
Truthfully its not all worm wee, its a mixture of the compost run off and the worm casting run off!
Now to get to the point about the Lettuce leaves, well you see for lettuce not to taste bitter it needs lots of water and nutrients!
The worm wee provides exactly what my lettuce needs and to be honest I have have bought lettuce twice in one year now.
Every time the lettuce goes to seed I collect it and when its about 3 weeks old I sprout more!
Yes, it's an endless cycle of lettuce and I eat it everyday.
Hay, even my 5 year old daughter Karin has a bit on some and our new Budgie (Australian Parrot) loves it too!
See you again soon and happy Gardening!
