More Tips For Leaf, Stem Removal and Fruit Production!

1.  Choose if you want a few branches or a central leader.
2.  Train the plant up a stake, train up a fence and grow vertical tomatoes
3.  Remove any old, diseased or unwanted branches.  This is done by twisting out the branches that appear near the leaf.
4.  Keep some leaf growth around the base of the pot to keep the root zone cool and shaded.
5   Once enough fruits appear keep removing unwanted branches and flowers for larger sweeter fruits.
6.  Remove bottom suckers.  These are tall lanky branches that appear at the bottom of the stem
7.  Do not over water during fruit set, as this makes the fruits split open.
8.  Full sun optimal minimum four hours - 6 to 8 hours is best!
9.  Give them plenty of love and tender care!

Training Tomato Plants and Which Are The Easiest To Grow?

Picture
_Training Tomato plants just may be the simplest of all methods, other than just letting them be.
This can be very similar to creating a central leader, but here you have more freedom to pick and choose which branches your want to train.

This method  is mostly used on a fence, grid or some type of support.  Wire fences work perfectly, and this just may be my favorite method for pruning and training tomatoes.
Many people ask me the question how to prune tomato plants, and which plants are the easiest to grow?
I would have to say Cherry Tomatoes!

Cherry Tomatoes are perfect for those who are little lazy around the garden or just don't have the time.
Basically they only need a bit of support, some fertilizer, water, full sun and you have Cherry Tomatoes all summer long.
And if you are lucky like me and live in the sub tropics or tropics, you can have sweet little Toms all year round!

Pruning Your Tomatoes into a Single Leader Just Like the Pro's

Pruning your Tomato plant into a single leader take a small effort and can produce fantastic lovely big Toms.
Many Tomato farmers using exactly this technique to achieve quality results for maximum fast fruit production.
You must stay on top of though and prune at least 3 times a week to really benefit.
This is done by following the central leader (main stork) and picking out the new tips as they appear.
You keep doing this until the plant starts to produce flowers and let this branch come off the central leader to produce
As the plant grows vertical it will produce more buds flowers stems and branches.  Keep the main stork (stem) as the major producer and keep removing new branches that appear.
