Let's Use Creative Nutrition!
Even if they’re not in school yet, kids are smart and can easily be taught, how fun it is to eat healthy!
Here are some ways to introduce to our kids how fun it is to stay healthy by eating the right food:
• Help your kids get to know their veggies and other food by making them active in the kitchen. It is the nature of children to want to imitate their parents’ roles and by letting them do this you will let them express themselves and help them develop their creativity.
• The fact that the kids themselves made their own meals will encourage them to eat it too. Help them make their own meals more exciting by providing special kitchen utensils that are children friendly.
• Be a creative parent too! Foods have different colors for a reason, and let us utilize these colors to make the meal more attractive to our children. Food plating or arrangement is also one of the exciting parts of making a meal, with the use of the natural colors of food; the kids will be more excited if you let them do this too!
With this tips the kids will find out that being healthy is a fun and exciting activity!

Easy to Make Kids Recipes - A Healthy & Delicious Spaghetti
Ever since I had my first daughter I have been a little more conscious of preparing meals that are not just tasty, but that are also healthy.
As mothers and/or fathers our time is somewhat limited, but that should not be an excuse to feeding our child chicken nuggets everyday -- some days are good!
One of my daughter's favorite foods is spaghetti, so I have been perfecting my healthy and easy to make kids recipes over the last few years. Here is what I've come up with.
My favorite from the "easy to make kids recipes" list:
I use a whole grain pasta, not wheat and not white. Cook the pasta until it is done according to your preference.
Use 97/3 ground turkey breast instead of ground beef or sausage. This may sound like a turn-off, but it is very good and you can still get that good sausage taste without the guilt.
Purchase a ground star anise, which should be available in most grocery stores, and add a pinch to the ground turkey while it is cooking. Make sure that you do not use too much or your turkey will taste like black licorice.
Just sprinkle a little of the star anise along with the following:
• salt & pepper
• dried Italian seasoning
• fresh garlic
• diced chives
• fresh basil
* I also like to add a touch of dried red pepper flakes for a spicy sausage flavor.
Next, add your favorite spaghetti sauce to the cooked meat, reserve about 1 cup, and also add in a can of Italian seasoned diced tomatoes.
Stir in about 1/2 cup of Parmesan.
When the pasta is done cooking add the remaining sauce and more Parmesan to help your pasta not stick and to boost the taste of this easy to make recipe with some additional flavor.
Whenever I prepare this dish I like to serve it with a light garden salad and whole wheat garlic bread. Congratulations -- You are on your way to sneaking a healthy and easy to make dinner past your kids!

Cooking For Your Kids: Every Mom's Challenge
By Kelly DiLauro
Cooking for your children can be difficult. Especially if you want them to eat what you make. They like one thing today and tomorrow it is not fit for consumption and what they could eat every day is likely not good for them. It is up to you to figure out how to make the healthy choices you have for them look palatable. If your child tends to eat a little bit here and there during the day, then the best thing to do is to ensure that he or she has plenty of healthy choices to pick from.
This way, you don't have to worry too much at dinner time if they are picky about what they eat. You will have the assurance that they had nutritious snacks during the day.If your child is still toddling, there are a few things you can do in order to feed them nutritious meals.
To begin with observe the eating habits of your child. If your child prefers eating snacks all day and will not settle down for a large meal, then be flexible and feed the child accordingly.
Provide snacks that are nutritious so that he can get the daily nutrient requirements that will help him stay healthy. Some great snacks include bread sticks, pita triangles, and crackers served with ham, cheese cubes, tomatoes, cucumbers and carrot sticks. You may be surprised how much your child will love them.
Often parents forget that children have opinions on what they like to eat. They may not like a certain food even if you force feed them. Take this into consideration when you have your healthy food revolution. Additionally, remember that the child's palette is just developing and introduce new foods little by little. However, this is not an excuse to cook the only 5 meals your children eat over and over again. Get creative and make different meals. This will get your children interested in food and the new flavors will get them to form their own opinion about the various dishes.
One of the best ways to get your child interested in the food you prepare is to involve him in preparing it. If they help cook it, they will be less likely to complain when you set it in front of them. To make sure your children eat healthy, keep all junk food out. Limiting their options will give them no choice but to eat the healthy food you have in the house.
Healthy foods are not made to look as cool as their junk counterparts. You need to try and make them cool so your child can enjoy eating them. Make fruits, veggies and other foods fun treats for your kids and they will enjoy them. If all else fails, take your time and let the child get hungry enough. It could be that they are still full from the last meal. When your child is hungry he will eat whatever is available. Mold your child's attitude towards healthy foods from a young age and he will be thankful to you later in life.

Healthy and Delicious Breakfast for Kids
All of those are wrong and the effects are exactly the opposite. Breakfast is really important not just for kids, but for everybody. There is a reason why it is called a breakfast, it's because you are "breaking the fast". You are actually having a "fast" while sleeping and you don't want to go on fasting until before lunch. Aside from not having enough energy to function fully all throughout the day, sometimes having an empty stomach for a long time can cause diseases such as hyper acidity and in some cases gastric ulcers.

Snacks are important and kids really needs snack in between meals, especially when they are studying, because snacks fill the gaps
The foods we eat are the main source of our energy that we use everyday to function effectively, and snack times provides extra energy for our kids to keep fueled up for school and after school activities.
Providing healthy snacks can greatly help them in many ways, preventing stomach upsets because of hyper-acidity brought about by an empty stomach for a long time.
Although this rarely happens, but prevention is always better than cure. Keeping your kids fueled up also means that keeping their brain stays fueled up too. The brain uses large amount of glucose and the main source of glucose in our body is from the foods we consume daily.
